Description A highly addictive and challenging rocket dodger. (I thought it was, anyway)

I orginally set out for a rock climber level, but I don't know what happened.

I'll post a demo.

Open space is usually a bad trait of a map here on NUMA, but not in this map. Here in Fiq's [nmaps.net] map Preachings of a Trance [nmaps.net] you have to worry about how to get the AGD without the use of launch pads or bounce blocks, only using the angles and momentum given to you by the tileset. A simplistic and effective concept is executed in this map, as there are only 3 enemies to worry over, though the tileset gives them access to you in almost all required locations. This map is a challenge that everyone should try. — mrgy05

and a little sparse, but this map reminded me that flow and speed and dynamics are really just guides and that really good gameplay emerges out of hard work. This maps had a beautiful design that considered rocket paths seemlessly integrated with gameplay rather than simple position as most maps do. I rated it a five, the first five I've given in a quite while. Nice work.

there and back again isn't too exciting...

Every now and then

people will complain about an open map for being too sparse. While it's certainly not often enough to make the claim on display here, perhaps it was a light hearted statement poking fun? Regardless, Open space is a trick to pull off and not feel wasted or empty.

It's kind of ironic that this map (to me at least) feels very half done and the sparsity isn't really to do with the open area but more that there really isn't much going on but some repetitive there and back again 'action'.

@mrgy05

Why is open space considered a bad trait? Do all good maps have to be claustrophobic? Sometimes I wonder what the reviewers are thinking when they write these (not just you).

Bahaha.

I don't get

how open space can be considered a bad trait?

it's fun

i enjoyed the constant rocket threat

it's fun

i enjoyed the constant rocket threat
except for actually finishing the map without dying.

I didn't like how repetitive the map was, like Evil_Bob.

Agrees with bob.

Another one that feels like a draft rather than a final, nothing about the play excited me.

well..

I don't really like the back and forth nature of the map. It gets a little old. It's not my favorite.

Thanks mrgy05

This feels as good as my first bitesize.

And

Featured.

A+

Very nice, out of the NUMA norm, but extremely enjoyable.
