map

Not a bad map actually well done!
They dont have to fill the screen either, you can just have a map in the center, like an island (preferably not literally :P) - or just the left or right side perhaps. Use as much space as is fun. Try and make the map look good too.

5 out of 5

'cause i love this band

don't make advertisement for your maps ...

But the "R" is nice to play.

btw. try to make a tileset without letters ... it is easier.
sure, this map has a lot of free space, but so does this map [nmaps.net].

good for a first, and it's a definitely a good thing that you're more focused on gameplay than looks :) welcome to numa!

3/5

Thanks

for your comment

Like I said,

the letters are not Nart.

The R looked that way to complement game play.

but you are right, it's not consistent.

too each his own

that said, i hardly think "too much free space" is a con. i've played dozens of excellent maps with too much free space.
very good for the first map (!)
pro:

  • Nice use of chain guns
  • good gold placement
  • not bad tileset (for playing)

con:

  • The "R"
  • too much free space

all in all = 3/5 (+1 bonus for the first map)
= 4/5

speedrun

that was trickier then i thought it was gonna be.

this is a very nice first map. aside from the 'R' not looking anything like an 'R', there's really nothing wrong with it.

just try different things and learn the pros and cons for each and every item is my only advice.

keep mapping, this is a fine start.
