welcome to numa! enjoy your stay here :3

I will fix it

I'll have to ask RD about it, but it's not letting me edit the post to change the map data

looks cool in game and in thumbnail. shame it is impossible

Actually

There is less than a full tile-space between the tile and the mine. It's 100% impossible to get past that spot in both 1.4 and 2.0.
But I hadn't even realized that before golfkid commented.

Maxson

What makes me think this map is literally impossible is this: I went into NED and tried coming back from the swith by the exit. Just standing on that corner and tipping over, you hit the mine. So even though there's a full tile height between the corner and the mine, with the mechanics of having to get past that corner there's just physically not enough room to get past.
Fun is the top priority, not difficulty. There were a lot of super-hard maps that were being made on this site back in 2005-2006, but those fell out of favor because you can make a more moderate map for the more moderate players while providing extra gold / highscoring routes for the super-good ones.

My rule of thumb is: playtest your own map. If you can beat it yourself, so can others. If you can't beat it without getting frustrated, definitely tone it down, because if you the creator can't beat it, how could some average joe have a chance?

(I personally prefer to AGD it myself, but I would recommend at least being able to complete it.)

Though I should also say that you should map how you want. If making super-hard maps is what's fun for you, stick with what makes you enjoy this game. But if you're making maps for others, maybe tone it down a bit. I mean, if golfkid can't beat this, no one can.

Death demo

So, is it a point of honor to have a map remain unbeaten in 2.0? I'm not familiar with that community at all, but if so it seems rather strange. I can understand the appeal of hard maps, but to make it so hard that nobody can beat it feels like it completely defeats the purpose of making a map to me.

If you watch my demo, I'm pretty sure that in 1.4, at least, its literally impossible to make it past this point because of the mine closest to the right of the exit. If its the same in 2.0, then there's a good reason that nobody has beaten it: you've made it impossible to beat!

Not going to give a rating at this point mainly because I just don't know enough about the 2.0 mechanics to say whether its impossible there as well. I can say that just by looking at it, the rest of the map looks good enough. A well constructed minejumper, even if the tiles may be a bit awkward at times. Nothing else looks really difficult, although the exit switch is probably the trickiest part. Wish you could make it past to get that switch, I'd love to be the first person to complete this map otherwise.
