I know what you mean... I do try hard to make easier maps sometimes, at least there are a bunch in my upcoming pack (I hope!).

But all in all I must subconsciously enjoy cultivating a reputation as a slightly evil mapmaker. I try and get it so that the map is challenging and potentially frustrating, yet interesting and paced enough to draw people in so they feel like they could win.
