Description Blame him:
A king dead in a palace;
In a hall of fool and foe;
Do Daniel and lion combine?
Do Daniel and lion come 2 kill a fine and good king?
A depeche mode:
000000000000110000000000010000000001011100000001010111001
A cannonade of feeling; O good=looking and blamed feminine fiend
Melancholomanic maiden
I feel a damp lip fall on each of mine
Phobophile >>>>>> hoping of nihilo: a hell place
Leading a pimpmobile along a Philadelphian lane
All alone;
Backhanding a pal I once had
I fondle each cinnamoned cheek en apologia;
000000000000110000000000010000000001011100000001010111001
I find an abominable man looking back @ me in a pool;
He held a damaged phone in one hand
Beginning in life and ending in a jail;
A common phenomenon?

considering the data.

Wowowow

5/5
Too bad it's not playable

haha

that was a read and a half....I'd say nice concept...but i beat you to it http://metanet.2.forumer.com/index.php?showtopic=21300 [metanet.2.forumer.com].

Still good though...love your work dave!

Also, hell...

...you could put objects in there and have a poem -and- a map. I cleared out some space with how I structured the poem. I just didn't want to take the time to put objects in. It really could've been something great.

You all dragged your baseless hostilities into it, instead. I came to expect this of NUMA, and I'm not surprised.
...and this is why. I'm apparently not allowed to make maps anymore, because of the enmity people have for me baased on my name. You'll never be able to view any of my maps as good, Arona, because you've decided that their only quality must be that I made them.

This, among other reasons, is why I gave up so long ago. You've continued to prove to me a point I sadly knew long ago--the people here are petty and vindictive.

I forgot about this

But I remembered it again. The reason I'm against this is all the people going "Oh, how delightful, sized and faved" even though I don't see how the poem is remotely metaphoric. I admit that the quality of the poem is entirely subjective, but what I think (agreeing with blackson) is that the only reason that people comment, favorite, and bitesize this is that you're blue_tetris.

Mmmm

Damp lip

Arona_Daal

...it -had- to be 713 characters, to fit the same size as a tileset.

You clearly don't understand the restrictions I was writing under. And, yeah, we get that you don't appreciate the map and view it as a waste of NUMA's immeasurable space, and all that shit.

But, frankly, I don't see why you're so against this. If any other user was able to pull off this feat, I'd appreciate them too--for their efforts.

In the end, though, you're right. It's probably best we stick to the same mine and tile rearrangements for another few years, lest something like this map gets created again.

Wow... I...

I don't know what to say. Faved. what a concept.

oh and

please explain the poem to me, it makes no sense. Also, I don't see the significance of 713 characters, what's the difference whether its 713 characters or 714?

I see your point

but we're supposed to bitesize maps, not poems. The poem might be wonderful (frankly, I don't see anything wonderful about it, but that's only my opinion and you have the right to be angry at it), but the map certainly is not bite-size worthy. When I think of all the people out there with wonderful maps that never get bitesized because they don't have 500+ posts in the forums and aren't particularly active, it hurts when I see this. If anyone else tried this they would get laughed at, regardless of any attempt to explain the poem.
...that this poem contains precisely 713 characters, no a single one more. It does not use the letters from R-Z. So, no "the" or "that" or "this" or "is" or "what" or "was", no plurals, etc. The poem was very much constrained, and took several hours to write.

And if you believe it's an easy task to type out a poem like this--which is still remotely good, metaphoric, filled with imagery--and if you believe that it could be done "randomly", I do encourage you to do it.

It was an experimental work and it was rather intriguing in its process. But if you think that I should have made another junk map like every other done-to-death map on the NUMA newest page instead of attempting a bit of novelty and innovation, I'll keep that in mind before I waste your time.

Consider that I made maps in the 4,000 range, and this map is in the 116,000s. Two years ago, I was quoted as saying "nothing more can be done with N". I was correct. Absolutely correct. Shame on me for trying to prove myself wrong, and do something--anything--to amuse some folks.

this is ridiculous

no offense to B_T, but this is stupid. When you type in letters and binary strings into the level data it gives you random tilesets, there's nothing really special about it. If anyone else tried pulling this they would get laughed at, yet, we see it bitesized (hopefully not seriously) and expressions of admiration. I have to agree with Blackson here.

Dammit...

I tried *so* hard to figure it out, but alas, I cannot. I understand the map data is the same as the description, but from what I understand there's something cool about what it generated...and I did indeed look long and hard at it, but aside from some minor nuances, I don't get it at all... :(

This would be cool

if you could actually see words on the map. I understand you probably put a decent amount of work into this, but it's nothing but a bunch of random tiles. Is this some kind of leet inside joke, or do i need magic glasses to see this?

*farts*

Thats funny

Before I knew what this was, I tried looking for a picture and saw a lion O_O

things like this:

"for all who dont know:
the descripyion is the same as the code and it turned into a TS"

make me laugh. They really want me to laugh, I think
ooohhh funny, someone made a lame map as a joke.

-

um, so what? type in a bunch of random words in the editor, and OMG what do you get? random tiles. wow.

1

You get 1 for effort

Heh.

That's so cool.

ok

for all who dont know:
the descripyion is the same as the code and it turned into a TS

Err......

What am I supposed to be seeing?
I feel so left out.

OH

lol, it took me a while, but i finally get it...
sweet
None of the words contain letters from R to Z--a rather castrating restriction! Also, 713 characters total.

The core idea

belongs to AlliedEnvy.

O_o

woah!

That's so unbelievably good! I just woah.
...look closely at the map. You'll understand.

Hmm

This is actually kind of interesting. Great writing, considering the restrictions...

-

what the fuck, this is levelism....
This brings tears to my eyes. Tears of passion.
Demo Data
The way you've utilized those lasers is astounding. Everything was placed with such precision.
How do you /not/ figure this?

Kablizzy, T3chno, turtles and Evil_Bob are so wierd. How u figure what this is?

i still don't get

what the hell it means, unless this is some kind of joke.
