i love the level, and i love your maps - but there's one thing wrong.

the thing i love about flowy race maps is that you can never go too fast with them. with this you have to watch your speed or cut of the track early to avoid mines. it's quite irritating.

still a very well put-together map. congrats and keep up the good work!

I like race maps because....

Well I like to make race maps more than anything. It is fun, and I can play them on my computer. The reason why I don't post many demos is because I can't complete many of the levels because of rocket dodging and what-not. At my house, I'm only up to episode 24, but at my friend's house, he never plays, I'm up to 81.

Races are usually easy, fast, and you don't have to think much. That's why I like them.

I like making them the most though because they are on a set path. Sure there can be more than one way to get through, but the fleuant(sp?) motion of the level just makes me like life. I don't see what's so great about action levels. Sure it's cool to chose your own path, but it's pretty random to make a good one. The way I made my 1 or 2 action levels was just make an O.K. tileset and just put in enemies where it would do the most damage, and put switches in random places where it would be the best/hardest spot to get into them. I'm really not a huge fan of action levels. I don't see what's so great about them.

Am I the only one...

Who doesn't get why race maps are so insanely great? Sure, you get to run around at high speeds, and that's fun. But usually there's a set path that you're running mindlessly around on. I much prefer maps where I choose which way to go and not the maker of the map.

No offense to you though formica, this is definitely one of the better races I've seen.
