You COULD attach the wire to the microphone but not without compromising the shape. As a tilesetter, you have to constantly decide whether visual accuracy or form accuracy is more important in every single aspect of the piece. I think you did a good balance of both here, though if I had to nit pick I'd say that the wire is a little crazy.

just like the wire could be going straight into the stand, but I don't think THATS possible.
