Okay, let me clarify my statement:

Commenting has no direct influence on the position of a map relative to others on the hot maps listing. Votes are the only form of user-input that directly affect a map's placement by adjusting its float higher with 4-5, and lower with 0-1, while 2-3 have no effect whatsoever.

Actually side key,

you are wrong.

People see that this map has 150+ comments. They think it must be one heck of a map. They load it in N. It takes too long. They look at the thumbnail. Rate it a 0 or 5, depending on their interpretation of N-art. Then this map stays up here longer.

So you noobs stop commenting, ya hear?
