Nice idea

That's a lot of mod data, though. Too bad there's no way to make it more compact.

I played it a few times, but never got more than a few times around.

I used Paint.net
Go to submit a map and submit the map you want an image. For example for the background i used a Full map with a random object. On the confirm submission page, instead of submitting it, click on the thumbnail. CopyPaste the image into Whatever you're using, do any editing you need (For example, the transparent hole in my foreground) then upload them on imageshack and set the image Url to the direct link. Voila!
