I would have liked this a lot more if you cut out the spiky style. It's sort of done to death and doesn't play very well in 95% of cases anyways.

Yes, good ideas, but the execution could use some work. The jagged tiles, while good looking, made for rough progression throughout the map. Needed some drones or another enemy to liven things up as well. Good start though. Keep working on this idea.
