look and feel go together

does not
If you just added three or four more groups of gold, it would be excellent.
Too little gold??? It doesn't matter if there's 1 or 100, if it's challenging and interesting to get it's what matters!
It has all the same flaws as well. Too little gold, boring enemies, repetitive. You can definitely make better.

How do they work? You know perfectly to offer interesting gameplays, sometimes technical, sometimes intense, but always rewarding, interesting and fun. Your hidden flows, your small wink mechanics, and the sovereign use of enemies.
