that is not my account, someone is definitely plagiarizing.

I really appreciate you pointing that out, is there a way to chat with that author in 2.0 or something? sorry but I'm not that familiar with it :/

sweet

you should take a look at zoasBE's multiaccount, VODKALOVER
about which version is or plays better, about which editor is or works better, neither about quality or community's issues. I am the well-know and stupid guy arguing about almost everything. The only thing that I can and I want to say is that every old, interested, committed, established and qualified user/mapper/player here in this community for all those years since 2004-05 or later, playing under 1.4, we tried 2.0 at least once, and I can almost assure we all instantly have left it at the same instant of trying it, and put it away forever, to keep happy and successful with 1.4. This has been so for some reason, I guess.

Anyway, best luck for you.

And now the citisism: Acting of the community seems ignorant to me. Lot of people tried v2.0, realised that their favourite bugs doesn't work, built in levels are easy, editor is different and jugded it as bad. Editor is different, and better, for sure. I can work with both editors and everything in v2.0 is faster than in v1.4. You can edit objects, work with group of objects or tiles (mirror, rotate, invert tiles). Every placed drone is described so you know you placed it right. You don't need to work with that code (very problematic, sometimes I save level to text file, reload it, and level is destroyed). Undo - Redo works. Testing is much easier, too. I seriously don't see anything what is better in old editor, tell me. Biggest barrier is different controls, and if people don't like it only because of controls, it's stupid. And editor is really intuitive, so I don't know where is the problem.
Gameplay is a lot better for me. Only thing we can miss is bugs, and that seems to me pointless. Even if bugs are often used, they are still bugs. Anyway v2.0 has its own bugs, that you can use, too. Lot of normal playing technics got easier, without some illogical problems. And that's more important for me.
v2.0 has potential, works good, but not with community. And that's not such a big problem, I think. Every level has it's own address, so it can be possible to connect the game with NUMA. Just like Nreality is connected to its page and NUMA, too. But It seems that no one want to do anything about it, so community will propably stay with older version forever. And good mappers and maps from v2.0 will stay unknown and without any feedback.

Anyway, thanks for the advice, I'll try it.

PS: lot of elements is still missing in v2.0, but it's work in progress, so I hope it will ends good some time. Or someone could do something like NReality for v2.0, that would be solution, too :).
It wasn't critisism, man. I just said what I see. Mappers in v2.0 are out of this community, so their maps are different. And mostly in tiles. In v2.0 is not very popular to make so perfect and complicated tiles like is on every level on NUMA. That's why I started working on tiles more, I really like it. For example levels in v2 are often smaller, shorter, simple. I'm the perfect example of this :). I don't know why but it's not very popular to make so large complicated maps with a lot of elements and for long play (And I really miss them).
I'm not a beginner. I play N for long time (almost since release). I know the positives of 1.4. But I think that v2.0 is better. I know it's unfinished product, it has bunch of bugs and in lot of things it is step back. But in gameplay it's better. When I was playing v1.4, I almost destroyed keyboard how I was angry everytime. Always yelling: Why it is not working?! Always some problems. Always lags. It is really annoying to still repeat same level when you lose due to lag. That was the main reason (but not the only one) why I stopped to play it for 2 years and started again when Holiday chalenge and v2.0 was released. It looked like all things that I hated on gameplay in v1.4 dissapeared. Much smoother, much more controlable, without problem.
On my new computer is v1.4/Nreality nonplayable. I'd love to play some levels from Numa but the game glitches for one second every two seconds (I tried some known fixes, nothing helped). So I can just test some levels but for normal gameplay it is very bad.
I tried to play Nreality on my old computer few weeks ago after a long time. And all those feelings were back. I saw again every annoying element, that I hated when I used to play it. After few minutes I stopped because I was so angry that I would destroy the everything around me, so I don't know what you guys like on old gameplay. v2 plays better.

I quite disagree with you in a couple of things you said. NUMA and all the mappers that this game had and has for over all those years (since 2004-05) are and were exceptionally interested and creative with tiles and also aesthetics, along with the concepts and gameplays of course. You can find great things and quite outstanding stuff around NUMA, diving on the vast 223.000+ maps archive.

On the other hand, It's not necessarily easier map in v2.0, just different. There are many different palpable things on Ned in v1.4 between the included editor in v2.0 (I just made a single map in 2.0). We all got used to Ned in 1.4 and now just seems strange 2.0. I understand that you will feel the same but in reverse. Simply v2.0 was a disappointment, something like an unfinished product, and of course, not better. And lost much of the essence that always had the version 1.4, and especially this community. I highly recommend you switching to 1.4 and NReality, and enjoy this community, and the best version ever created.

And finally, I think there are maybe some quicker ways to convert your maps, the ones you already has published in the 2.0 server to 1.4. There is a way and some users-programms that could do this and everything it's explained in Forums. I did it once a time and it is explained on this map of mine: http://www.nmaps.net/229205
You can save much time, quickly converting data. You can find some errors or differences in the conversion, like issues with drones and such, but then you only have to eliminate those mistakes and re-place those drones for example. Frankly much faster than re-do the whole map from zero..

Hope this help. ;) <3

XD :D

Another self-advertising from dear Mohit!! :P ;)

Thanks!

Thanks for welcoming guys :). I made just about 15 maps in v2.0, but converting them is more complicated than it looks. version v2.0 is a lot different. Mapping in v2.0 is easier and a lot faster than v2.0. For example in Control the machine 1 I have more than 100 drones. How could I convert it faster than clicking 3 times on every one?
I like to work a lot on aesthetics but I never worked with tiles so much (like it is typical for v1.4 mappers), more with objects, so some of my levels maybe will be too slow in v1.4. Anyway, I'm now working on new level for both versions.

much harder than it looks ; d

Hello!

I saw your fisrt map published here in NUMA days ago, but I did not say anything about it. I think you has some nice ideas as a new mapper, also I can see how you're interested and you care about the aesthetics and the final result. That's really important, not really necessary for the gameplay or the enjoyment, but indicates that you have some concern and interest in your product and mapping, and this is something very interesting. I don't play v2.0, and I can't see some of your other maps, but I suggest to you to keep mapping an also converting for NUMA the ones you already has. But above all, keep mapping and making new ones, try concepts, and try to be clean and concise, both in ideas and execution. And you'll become in a great mapper soon. I say this because i can see potential, and I don't usually welcome with advices newcomers. So, I hope to see great things from you in a near future.

Also, WELCOME TO NUMA!!!
