Mmm, hm, I was gonna say the same! Feels like ages since I've mapped tho. I'll try to dig up the latest rendition this weekend, I'd love to finish something up with you ^_^

Hey sorry! I've been traveling, will try to make some time tomorrow. It's looking pretty good, maybe just another round of edits and we're set.

Any of the above! Hell, even thwumps or zap drones might work if we got clever. Go ahead and try some stuff out, see what seems fun to you. You'll probably have to move around bounceblocks, maybe add some gold, to see if you can get something to work. And if nothing seems good, that's cool, but give it a shot.

Oh and if you could post on one of my maps so I get the notification, that would be sick, thanks.

edit and a replay

Thanks! :D
I love what you did with it - the mine placement seems perfect. I had a good play around in it, moved the ninja's starting point and got rid of some of the low hanging "clouds" to put a bit of jumping puzzle into it, particularly on the way back. Like I said before, I'm not the most experienced player which means that any edits I do I'd really appreciate your input on :)

Also, what IS out there? :P I'm not sure whether to go gauss, rockets, lazers, chaingun or what really?

Thanks for being really nice about my lack of experience. Its good to have someone showing me the ropes when it comes to collabs!

Awesome!

Your tilesets are gonna rival deep_blue and PALEMOON in no time. This is splendid.

How does this [paste.droni.es] look? I was thinking, like, open-air action map with some chill mine caves to escape from whatever's out there?

Collab rule #1: If you don't like something, change it. Feel free to tell me I did something stupid, or something you don't approve of. Nothing is ever off limits.

if you add this to the end in nreality i made some pretty pictures :) |http://i66.tinypic.com/i21pit.jpg|http://i63.tinypic.com/1znbhx1.png

Ooh, no, sorry — you'll have to get me the paste's url (unless I just didn't see it somewhere?).

Regarding your maps, I don't have too many specific suggestions for you. Maybe that'll change once we do a collab. I'd just suggest you push out of your comfort zone a bit — most all your maps just use gauss, and you lean heavily towards curvy, flowy tiles. These totally work for you, but it's fun to experiment.

Try using some other enemies — make a zap drone map, or one with a laser or floorguard. Try using enemies in combinations, too: laser + gauss can be great (if a bit scary), floorguard + anything, etc. It might help to start with some smaller/shorter maps, just to get a feel for other enemies.

Try some offbeat tiles — make a godawful-ugly tileset, and see if you can make it fun. Do one without tiles, even. I dunno, that's all pretty vague, but I hope it helps! As you start messing around a bit, I'm sure you'll have some other ideas.

Sick, yeah, send it on over. People usually use paste [paste.droni.es] for collabs, nice and handy.

Yeah for sure - I've never done one before though :)

Psst!

Hey, would you be interested in a collab?

AGD.

this is fun.
that stacked bounceblock is weird.

"new to this"

Nope. Doubt it. Your maps are waaaay too good for you to have not been here before

agd

faster than meta, including before his botched ending. map was okay, but just check next time for accidental double object placements (such as the doubled bounceblocks in the exit room)

thanks guys! :D

actually the right side was unintentional but wp doing it anyways :P

OH YEAH

And welcome to numa! Lovely to see another face around here, especially such a talented one ^_^

Bleh..

Screwed up the end, but AGD nonetheless.

Is actually pretty nice, and well designed.. simple as it is. I especially like the fact that if you are skilled enough, you can skip it by going to the right. (Whether that was intentional or not)

The decision to place the mines over the bounceblock was a good one as well, as you'll find that one thing that tends to universally annoy people on NUMA is hidden stuff.

Demo soon

Welcome to NUMA!

Enjoy your stay. Hope to see even more great maps like this one!
Your other map looks better but this has some splendid gameplay. 5/5, keep it up!
