Description From my mappack EVERYTHING WAS FINE (The World Was Ours, Pt. II) (forum link to be added at some point? Who knows).

It took a while, but I have now pretty much finished organizing the pack. I still have a few missing levels to make and a few that are still unfinished, but the hardest part is done.

I remember how good it felt when everything clicked with Pt. I [forum.droni.es] way back in 2015, and how quickly I went from "Oh god what is this mess" to "These maps all complement the story I wanted to tell really well and I already have almost everything I need". The shift was just as sudden this time. I did have the entire two first episodes already named this time, and the next few already posted in almost the final order, but last time I had 23 levels and this time I have 40.

It's the first time I serialize a mappack before it's done. I have to say the seat-of-the-pants approach works thematically since the story is a lot more chaotic than it was in Pt. I [packs.droni.es]

I do have to make one more episodic metanet-style level that is good for highscoring, which is just about the hardest style for me to pull off. In the past week I've made several maps that, while good, don't feel quite authentic enough. I'll figure it out eventually. That's how I've approached this pack.

Great map.

I love how the chaingun repositions itself so it's always pressuring you throughout the map. That and the central gauss, which always sees you as you traverse back and forth from left to right.

I also liked that there are two ways to get to the first key, one from above and one from below. The latter being the harder and faster (and more satisfying) to pull off.

cool map

surprisingly flowy. the only thing I disliked is the clump of tiles you have to jump over at the top right. fun!
