Map Data

Description I must say, this is the best map I\'ve ever created. It\'s for Xdude_Rox for constantly showing support on my maps and others, as well as contributing great maps to the community. Hope you enjoy it Xdude. I\'ve spent more time on this map than I have any other map ever, extensively tweaking and playesting it. I think I worked out a nice flow and level of difficulty. Inspired by Tl.
Oh, and special thanks to Whaleshow527 for playtesting.
Demos would be excellent, as always.

What was I talking about? What?

I understand.

It may be a bit redundant. All I'm trying to do is understand how well an object may work in conjunction with another, or what tiles go work well with certain objects. I'm just experimenting at this point because as you said, I'm new.
I can guarantee that now, I'm tired of these maps. I myself don't feel like making them anymore. However, now I'm a bit more knowledgable about the enemies and tiles. Thanks for all the comments and suggestions.
And I do understand that you are still very new to NUMA, but seeing as your maps are to a higher quality than many "newer" people, I think that you could make some great maps during you stay here. I was just trying to nudge you into a different direction with your mapmaking abilities.
Firstly I'm saying that I've already commented on this map already and I'm not trying to deny how much I like it. You rock. But what I'm trying to say, in as general a term(s) as possible, is this:

I'm not saying that these maps aren't fun, but this fun becomes a little unfun when the player knows exactly the type of fun he/she is going to have when playing your maps. You see what I'm saying? For example, if formica just starts making a bajillion maps just like "The Crazy Miner" then although people will have a lot of fun (because that map is undeniably awesome), they'll eventually get bored because they'll just play the exact same way and they'll know exactly what to expect. It'll be more exciting for those players if you introduce a new kind of "fun" to NUMA by making a map that is very different from the previous one. I'm not saying that it needs to be entirely un-Methodic, but as long as it at least plays a little differently. Right now a bunch of your recent maps just involve jumping around, dodging bullets in several different "sections" of the map (sorry, I know, that's very bad) and although they're very fun by themselves, they're just getting a bit boring when seen over and over. Why don't you try a map that uses a single concept or obstacle instead of dividing them into rooms? A one-enemy map or a puzzle map are good places to start. Maps by authors like tktktk are also good places to look.

I hope I was helpful. I'm sorry that you're having trouble with this crap when you've only been here for less than a month. But, hey, people don't like seeing the same thing over and over again, just as you don't like hearing (or reading) me say the same things over and over. :D

I agree with you to an extent. However, I don't think his bounceblock-oneway things are much different, functionally, as block tiles. I think those are just objects Methodic uses to tweak up the map a bit. But I do agree with you that this style is becoming a bit redundant. I usually know, nowadays, what a Methodic map is generally going to be like before really playing it. So I suggest that you make every map something different. Try making a map without holes in its tiles. Try making a level with no chaingun drones. I've never really encountered this kind of problem, but that would definitely bring more excitement and anticipation to Methodic maps.

Ah..

I know you have this sorta "style" now, but I find that all your maps seem to blend together. They all consist of the same old think. They all have a chaingun around an 'E' tile with two lauchpads on the side, some rockects, 4 oneways with a bounceblock in the middle, and the same type of tileset. Its getting really boring and the maps just aren't very 'fun' after playing the same exact type of map. All I ask is that you possibly change it up a bit from map to map.

Done.

not a good demo...but yeah, I finished.

Meh.

Stupid demo, but I made some slick dodges. I'll try to complete this later.

And I concur...probaby your greatest (not just because it's ded. to me). It plasy so well and those rooms are great! Hard to get gold...and to pass the level...the demo shows how far I got (lol), and as always - 5aved!

Absolutely fantastic. Great tileset, and those rooms are just wonderful.
