Description All play and no gold makes krusch a dull boy.

This map was featured on 2010-11-17

A musician once said: “The space between the notes is as important as the notes themselves.” Apply this mentality to a map, and you will come up with something by krusch, master of minimalism. Wonder makes use of placing great importance on each aspect of the map to perform their duty, from the bounce-blocks to the gaps between tiles. The gold is a triumph in it’s self. The lack of gold makes the one piece available a gem.
Wonder has a quiet madness to it. It taunts you with its very existence, and sets your tongue firmly in your cheek.

Yeah! GMT+10 represent! :D

Agd (underclocked)

I agree with Squibbles for saying it's not minimalism, it's experimental or ambient.
I agree with Orion for saying that this is an excellent map and for his nice quotation.
I 5aved this Wonder.

Orion

the queue's been broken for like two years :p

*your, even.

Radium, you would go snipe my map for pointing out that you're comments are flawed, wouldn't you?
Hey, I really appreciate you rating on a few of my older maps. Thanks.

Godless

you little nit-picker

his dogmatic tone doesn't work for me

Huh

Interesting comments, guys, to say the least. A few of you can be a bit venomous. Thanks, anyways. Also, I'm sorry for pushing your review out of the way, I didn't mean to. I thought that the queue prevented things like that.

it looks very decieving
i wish there was more to do though

the gold is also kind of disappointing to collect

the space between whatever you are talking about in the review doesn't work very well due to letting you just pass through the map in about 20 seconds
THIS IS A MAP WITH A UNRIVALED TILE-SET!!!
IAM surprised that this map was not found befour now!

deserves: 4.9/5

this map is not minimalism - it is attempted minimalism.

oh, right, the map

uh, the only real issue I have with this map is that it both looks and feels like a prolonged experiance, however it is in fact extremely brief. I mean, Don't get me wrong, I love brief maps. Hell, they're easily my favourite type of maps. Short and sweet, however this felt not like a good short map, but rather a badly designed large map. :(

I know I'm late

but I just wanted to add my bit to the minimalism thing that was brought up. See, I don't think that minimalism is neccesarially about using fewer objects, but rather having the objects serve multiple purposes, and being used in a context that renders them as useful as possible, and certainly more so than the general use. If you can place a guass in exactly the right spot so it has a threatening presence in both regions of the map, rather than using two guasses, both not as effectively as what was just mentioned, this would, in my opinion, constitute minimalism. It's not so much about using fewer objects, but rather using them to a greater potential. A minimalistic map could very easily be the same length as a non-minimalistic one, and still have more objects.
This may have been hip in 2006, but style, action and PALEMOON are what's in in 2010.

...I had to do it!
It's unfortunate most of you don't understand him.
It's unfortunate most of you don't understand it.

I love the concept

but not the execution

Radium you basically just contradicted yourself. Skyline said I think, therefore his comment is his opinion, which, according to you, he's entitled to.
Thanks for your comments, everyone. Apologies for mine. I think I get a bit too involved here a bit too easily.

Thanks again for the feature, Borg.
I was wrong. I didn't like this at all. Some nice gauss action, but it's all.

hehe

it's been about 4 years since I last played this map. Also that brilliant quote is from John Williams.
and maybe the review itself, i get a "anything you can do
krusch can do better" vibe.
also skylines comment sorta made me shake my head.
i like the review though... not keen on the map.
I had trouble working out when to put up my features the other week, and ended doing them late (I think).

It's unfortunate for Flag, but that's just life. Don't blame Orion!
the tileset was appealing until I experienced the gameplay. 2/5

Note that

Its still the 17th on NUMA, : \ - therefore there is 2 featured maps for the 17th now.

I like this.

Nothing wrong here.
everyone is entitled to different interpretations of map

stop proclaiming that other peoples' views aren't valid

Ahhh.

That's a fair point! Thanks for the comment.
But from my understanding minimalism is the use of very few enemies to produce challenging and enjoyable gameplay (or maybe just enjoyable). The gausses only fired once on most my runs and never posed even a minute threat. They were practically excess, thus not minimalistic. Thats why I i'm criticizing the quality rather than the length.
