Not made up. "Sanguine" (as in the Latin meaning) is not blood; as usually interpreted, in fact, it isn't a Latin word at all. "Cruor" is the true word meaning blood in Latin. Probably the best interpretation of the whole title is either Blood; though Fire in the Darkness (meaningless) or Fire, Blood and Darkness, as a reference to murder.
