it's that it's glaring. When you produce something stylized, it tends to borrow heavily from certain authors or parts are directly lifted from their works. When you produce something that doesn't hark to another it tends to be overly generic and blends in no matter how well you work with space and objects.

It's this unfortunate mix that has gathered all this attention about you. At least that's how I see it.

Oh, and I know you like to copy my maps sometimes, buy now you even look a little like me when I was younger! When is it going to end? :p

Also,

atob, when you refer to design, are you talking about how the map looks? Or how the map is set up, like with the chainguns in the center n stuff?
Instead of constructive criticism, it feels as though that there is some, "secret campaign against me". Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to flatter myself, or say that I'm anything better that what I actually am, it just feels like alienation. Some of the accusations placed upon me, although some of it is my own doing, are sometimes presumptuous. I'm not pointing fingers at you atob, more along the lines of max_ride. It seems that when I make a map, the FIRST thing people look for is whether or not it looks like plagiarized, and or if the design is cool, rather than the gp. Respectively, I AM making an effort now a days to heed advice given to me. In addition, I /am/ trying to improve. Sometimes I get a bit confused in this place, because it feels hectic and over-bearing. A lot of the time I feel pressured to make something up to par, and often forget that this is just for fun, right?

Again, /please/ don't interpret this as me whining, or speaking out against comments made against me. I ~*/appreciate/*~ the criticism, (however blunt it may be), and in the future I look forward to improving.
There isn't even a single demo.

BTW, atob, there is a pic of me in the most recent page of the "Post a pic".

My opinions

are not to do with Mekkah (I don't even know the guy/gal), they're to do with design.

A vendetta against highly-derivative and uninspired products? Perhaps.

Hmm

my use of the term post-modern was a bit tongue-in-cheek, but I stand by it. Mekkah's style is re-appropriating other styles.

Different strokes. You seem to have strangely involved vendetta against Mekkah.

Sorry.

From now on I'll just gush along with the rest, how about that?

Oh!

Fall over atob!

;____;

Contrived

fits more, imo, sorry :(

There's absolutely nothing post-modern about this, just more well placed but super-generic designs.

Thanks!

I really appreciate it!

Fantastic map.

I see elements of many authors, and I don't bring that up to patronize you, as I see it as a celebration. I see Cerebrus' eclectic enemy placement, apg's one-way use, and a few others. Some people (in so few words) call you contrived, I call you post-modern, and this map I think is a master work. Congrats. 5 and Faved.
