but I noticed it was a DDA when it was just submitted.
Reading the comments makes me glad I missed this, too, despite how great the DDA is (I don't think it's really as original as the review suggests, but at least it's more so than my DDA which got featured, and it's well-made, too). While I wouldn't have featured this myself (I would've chosen another one of LordOfPeanuts' maps), its getting featured is perfectly justified.

The main problem I have with DDAs is summed up in PALEMOON's comment: "it's like, you know the ninja's not going to die, so why bother watching D:"
When I first saw a DDA (Brickman's "Running Man"), I didn't even know what DDA stood for. I just knew to hold right, so I did so. Since then, I've never felt the same tension and excitement as I did then, because I always knew the ninja was going to survive (except, ironically, in badly-made DDAs that don't look like they were tested properly).

While DDAs may not be the most exciting and/or fun maps ever, saying that they should not be featured because they are DDAs is stupid in my opinion.

I agree with LD. If you want to decide what to feature or not, go and apply for reviewership. Maps aren't featured because they're the best in the genre, or use something special. They're featured because either the reviewer thinks the map needs attention and that they love the map. Saying 'blablablablabla clifty owns this blablablabla' doesn't mean anything. If only 'the best' maps got featured, we would have a boring stagnation of a single author, because 'the best' is subjective. Just stop whining guys. If you don't like the review/map, don't rate it well. But don't go ranting about taking away reviewership because you disagree with quality of a dda.

I was taking your comment a bit too literally apparently, but I was trying to say it's a good thing you don't have atob's position (who decides who is and who isn't a reviewer) because that would be a sad day to see GTM demoted because of the genre of map he was featuring.

@happy_taco: I don't know what you mean, but I don't think many people understand the role of a reviewer. It's a difficult job to keep after a while when you've featured most every worthy map in your favourites.

@crescor: If you came back to just be a dick to everyone who you don't "love" then please just leave again. We don't have to like each other, but you posting "idiot" on another users map when we have discussed conflict issues like this in the past just makes me want to ban you. Yeah this isn't a way to save a dying breed of maps. Like I stated before people go to the feature section to find a great map to play. PLAY!!! Its that simple. Most people don't want to watch a ninja jump around the screen while you sit there and do nothing. DDAS are fine. I just don'think they can nor should be feature material.

This isn't the first one and it won't be the last. I was one of the first people to see/comment this map and I stand by what I said because this DDA came out in a period where there was a GIGANTIC lull for DDAs (and even N-arts). While this might not be the best DDA, GTM obviously didn't want to drag up an old Clifty DDA because that would start a big "way back when DDAs were more than just a novelty" argument.
He's trying to save a dying genre of map by showing that today's mappers still can make DDAs, even if there are only a few *ahem* left.
