I disagree

I rather liked the aesthetic, and I thought the drones played nicely around the minefield with the trapdoors. The unpredictability of them made them far more interesting. The drones on the right, I found were interesting, because your entire approach to them seemed to be different. Rather than brazenly rushing in, you approached the last 3 rather tentatively, due to the proximity of them.

Also, I could be wrong here, but I'm pretty sure, based off the vibe I get from this map as a whole, that the exit door actually worked /exactly/ how it was intended.

don't like this. The tiles/doors are really hard to move about on, the drones have very little impact at all, it looks awful, there's no gold, and the exit doesn't work.
I don't think you're getting the hang of drones.
You used too many of them here, to very little effect.
