Description Well, this is my second ever race. It took me a really long time to make, so RCE!

-EDIT-
Wow, I already feel so much better at races. Is it weird that earlier-today me seems...so young?

And so I did.

I really really like the drop past the floorguards -- probably my favorite part of the race.

Oh yeah

mIRC has a "free trial", but even after it expires, you can still continue to use it.

IRC

Is pretty much a chat service. To get on, you can use a web based client like mibbit, but I'd recommend you get a real client like mIRC [mirc.com] or xChat (I don't know the link for it off the top of my head but I will let you know when I find it.)

Once you download one of them, and set everything up, type /server irc.mountai.net in the editbox at the bottom.

When you've connected to the server, there are plenty of channels you can join -- the three main(?) ones being #n, #n-highscores, and #n-mapping. There are also other channels you can join, and you can see a list of all of them by typing /list in the edit box. To join a channel, type /join #channel (don't forget the #)

Anyways, IRC is good for talking to a lot of people in the community, and is faster than the forums or NUMA. It's also good if you want to collab, have someone playtest a map, and other things of that nature.

southpaw is holding a retile competition on the forums.

weeee

dude focus more on make a great atmosphere and flow, then worry about enemies and close calls second. It feels like you designed the flow/tiles around the enemies and not the other way like you should

Very nice flow, and that you find creative way of finding new flow. Just work on keeping it constant and consistent! :)
Maybe try to cut down on the enemies a little. If you want a crazy hectic atmosphere that's fine, but most races tend to work better with themed enemies. (e.g. Tyr's Day uses floorguards)

Also, this [nmaps.net] may be of some use to you, if you're still trying to get the hang of flow.

Forgot something...

When I said "fake AF" on that one map, it was because there is someone on IRC called AF, so I wanted to be sure there was no confusion for other people who are on IRC. (You're not AF from IRC right?)

Anyways, I can't play this map right now because I'm typing this from my DSi, so I'll look at it tomorrow.

wow thanks GRN

that's a huge compliment coming from you :D

thats

really good for a second race. If your gonna use thwumps, try using them for something else besides running over them and keep working on aesthetics.

4.5^ for a second.

I knew you knew ;)

I like the actual race, good degree of difficulty.

Here's a real demo:
