Description Let me guess "-0.5 for using launch pads". You know, I may as well just go around maps and saying "-0.5 for using the ninja".

Don't rate down because I use launch pads. Theres nothing wrong with them. This is a don't do anything map. Should work in userlevels also.

I would have given this a 5; the close calls even out for the launchpad use.
But your description almost makes me want to drop it. should I made a dda that is completely launchpads, two seconds long, and no enemies, and then just say "don't rate it down because it sucks?"

Guys, launchpads were a constant in DDAs for a long-ass time. Clifty's debut, Debris, had tons of launchpads. It was inspired, I was led to believe, by my "rocketry", also with a bunch of launchpads, which was inspired by jugglingenius's Mass Mayhem IV, with at least 50 launchpads.
In fact, formica's masterpiece The Improbability Drive had launchers out the wazoo.
Bufar's alternate propulsion contest was really the first thing that made people try DDA's with no launchpads at all.
See, the old rule for using launchers in DDA's were this: If you used it twice, the pad could stay. That kept it from becoming silly. Anyway, I'm going to go see the chiropractor about my back. And then I'm getting a prostate exam, and going golfing.

anywho, very cool, I can never really get my head round how people make these DDA things so good, and this one especially has a very big wow factor, gets 4.5/5 from me.

The mines

Are only there because I had nothing else to put their. I could've extended the DDA a bit more into the corner, but it would've been boring as there would've been no enemy dodging. Thus, I filled the empty space with mines.

i really like this

i disagree with all the bad things. (cept maybe the useless mines in top left). I mean there is a mix of all propulsion in there which is interesting. Theres a mix of enemies which is cool and which all add to close calls. Also although N goes away from the action at parts i think its cool they way he uses the whole map + gets into different situations. This is a great concept and i definitely give it a 5aved

Launchpads

Personally, I think that launchpads are only noobish if they are used in uninteresting ways. There are a few points in this map that launchpads were used for awesome close calls that may not have been possible with other propulsion. The other thing is... it seems like the DDA masters care little about launchpads (unless they are used unneccesarily). So why does everyone else?

I wasn't joking. I don't like launchpads, or DDAs and N arts, for that matter. They're both wastes of N. If you want to make an animation, use flash. If you want to make art, use Paint. In addition, if AMLT hadn't put his launchpad disclaimer on the description, there'd be no way this would be on the top rated.
It was still very nice. Definitely a 4.5aved.
Soon people will be against using trapdoors in a DDA and that will pretty much leave thwumps as a method of propulsion and that will mean everyone will make very similar DDA's and that means DDA's will get boring and that means no-one will make DDA's and that means you can have a 4. Nice job.

It made it kind of boring. There's also too many launchpads...

Launchpads are uncreative and not difficult to execute. Therefore, people tend to rate lower due to the quantity of launchpads. The close calls that were there were nice. I think that this tileset affected the outcome, and so did the enemy placement. Anyway, it was a pretty good map. Why is the clump of mines necessary?
