Description This is really my first 'regular maps'. All my other maps or weird in some way, where as this is the first that resembles most of the maps on NUMA. It's kind of a Collab with tiles from Msyjsm (http://www.nmaps.net/149796) and item placement from myself. I don't know if that's the correct term though, or is you call it something else for tileset usage? Anyways, the tiles are great, and I hope the gameplay is alright. It's been a long time since I posted a map (relatively) and I know using a tileset is kind of lame I thought this one is too good too waste. Hopefully it is enjoyable, as I am actually quite happy with the results (Except for the rocket section... that one is meh) and put a lot of time in the placement. Anyways, please RCN.

EDIT: Beginning was annoying. One mine removed.

Wow, it's amazing I decided to come check up on this place during the same month that you visit.

3,5/5 up

At overall, the map has a cramped gameplay atmosphere. But the chaingun works really good, and the exit switch is really challenging.
but the zsnapped gold looked kinda ugly.
4d for nice adventure.
but awesome run Msyjsm.
I really need a theme to work around so could you just shout out an enemy or type of map (no DDAs please) as I cannot bring myself away from Simple Challenges ATM. Sorry, I just need some direction, even if I should be giving it to myself.
everybody mapmakes at a different pace, or a different "metabolism" if you will. AMomentLikeThis has made 1000 maps (most are generally quite nice) because that is the pace he can handle. I've only made 60-odd maps; when I joined Numa I, much like you, submitted a map per week, but after awhile I slowed down and now it's a rarity if there's more than one map every two months that I submit. Some have even stopped making maps totally and have moved on to the forums and greater things (see wedgie123 and Tsukatu). So don't feel bad if ur not producing maps by the hour like some of these other mappers here, just submit at a rate that is comfortable for you.

AGD

Tough level. A bit too tough, if you ask me. But good gameplay nonetheless, although the object placement is a bit scatterbrained and ugly at times.

Thanks for using my tiles. :D

yaya

I'm realizing all of this more and more. I appreciate the explanation of Numa in general. TBQH, I don't really think my maps even deserve a 2/5. IT seems that every time I check the active authors or hot map pages every single new map is better than every single one of mine. I'm not whining, just saying, unless it's an ultra noob map, it's got ALL of mine beat. And more than that though, almost everyone here pumps out one a day. I just dont think I'm cut out for this. So getting sniped almost felt like confirmation of that. Anyways, I will continue to try. And promise to ignore the ratings (with exception for learning from mistakes) and try to make my maps as well rounded in feel and play while keeping my own style. I also will never burst out like that again.

oh boy...

as you grow up and mature on this site, you'll find that ratings don't count for jack squat anymore. It ain't a competition. yes I know that a new NUMAn feels the excitement of submitting maps and dreaming up some far-fetched fantasy of being the next maximo or something can be a major driving force in making maps, but everybody has a day when their dreams are shattered. I was pretty sad too when one of my first maps was sniped or no one payed attention to it, but a guiding force name kkstrong0, now know as cucumber_boy, revealed the truth, and it set me free. enough with the melodramatics now, ur gonna find that everybody has their own opinions, and some people just like being assholes (I know the excitement of being an asshole well enough). of course everyobody has these great ideas and when they start put the map together they believe that their map is going to be epic, am I right? then the public reminds you, in a worst case scenario, that YOU SUCK and they go off on tangents telling you what you should and should not do. you see, NUMA is a communist state (now I am putting lies into your head, or am I?) and if you don't conform to mapmaker with evenly distributed objects and nice looking tiled maps, then we're just gonna boo you off the stage and throw apricots at you. sooner or later you're gonna figure how to incorporate everybody's advice/demands into your ideas and make maps that please you and the public; this is called "style". everybody has their own style: for example cucumber_boy is extemely contemporary, whereas Myrrhman makes well-structured, but puzzling maps with a hint of tileset flare. even the dreaded espada77777, who generally makes shit n00bish maps according to communist NUMA, had his own style and had the courage to say FUCK YOU!! in the public's face and only made maps for himself (he is a brilliant nartist, I must say). He realized that ratings and opinions don't matter. If someone doesn't like your map, whoop-dee-do, and if someone does, then good for you.

right now ur still in the beginning phase where you might hang urself if you get a low rating, but we all grow up and learn to live for ourselves, and make maps that hopefully people enjoy. there will be a point one day when you say "it's my life, these are my maps, so don't you people forget it", and that is when you will discover the essence of mapmaking my friend.

so do you really want my opinion on this map?

this was quite fun!

i liked it 5/5

Yeah sorry.

Bad day, came home to snipage lost it a bit. Inexcusable but I'll try to excuse myself anyways; I'm sorry.

umm

that was a bit scary...
swearing like that it kinda scared me
like you've gone off or something:(

Well

it is nice to see your rating is back up again.

it was definitely

no 4, so don't be upset about a 3 out of 5, that's still ok for a new user like you...
I'll give it a 3 because I didn't like you had to move so fast and precise and there where some other things to be improved
so calm down, the rating won't get any lower or higher over the time, you have to accept that...

that said.

this map was pretty shit.
But I don't rate maps anymore, so you're in luck that I'm not going to give this a 1.
First of all, let me explain sniping. "Sniping" is a form of voting abuse in which someone gives a map a low rating (typically zero), not because they actually believe the map deserves that rating, but for some other reason - to annoy the author, to get back at someone they've been arguing with, to knock a map below theirs on the Hot Maps page, to swing the average rating more than an honest vote would, whatever. It's important to remember, though, that not every low rating is sniping! If your map is getting low ratings, it's quite possible that this is because your map isn't very good. Even if your map has been getting good ratings and someone rates a bit lower, it's not necessarily sniping - not everyone likes the same sort of thing, and some users tend to be more generous with ratings than others (eg. some people give a score of four only to excellent maps, while others give it to any map they think is reasonably good). After all, if we all agreed we wouldn't need an average rating!
5aved nice maps I'll unsnipe some more

Quite

challenging. I quit after I got to the sniper in the this space.

okay...

maybe the map of yours with the most comments but I think this doesn't matter:
answer to everything:
1) Thanks for those lots of ratings, I'm very pleased with that.
2) Yes, of course you may use any of my tilesets as long as you credit me and show me what you did with it.
3)Also thanks for that ded idea, but I don't think I should include it ine the series, maybe just a kind of introduction or so.
4)In most of your maps gameplay is important, so please be patient, I'll rate AND comment when I've finished all of them.
5)Didn't look at your posted map so far, will reply later, too.
6)Bye for now, see you later.
:D

I didn't

I was completely being sarcastic

Hey

found an old map of mine... http://www.nmaps.net/165006

no prob

geee

thanks for the AGD

I

probably will this morning (this was posted at night)
You need to post some demos of your CV series. That series can be hell sometimes XD

Wow

You are far better at N than I am...

This should be

fun to watch.

AGD *Dances*

This map actually has ridiculously planned flow, but it is very specific. This demo shows the gist of it (although I messed up the flow at the chaingun both times). Something I really like about this level is, although it is very open, every area is distinctly separated, and can be completed in any order.

So unless it's important don't post it.

Wow, between refreshing the map and watching Mythbusters on netflix.... this is hilarious.
Cause if this happens. It will be choppy like crap

Have

fun... If you suceed this will be a near-epic AGD.
Anyways, I've done harder of your levels AGd so I will do my own!!!
