Take a screenshot of the map, open it in GIMP, and use the select by color tool on the tiles.

Well yes, I understand that. I should have said specifically the foreground image, which I have trouble w/ because it naturally covers all the tiles and objects. Any info on the foreground images?

You just make two images with the dimensions of 792x600. Put the background after the item data, then put the foreground after that. Like this:
