its possible to get through each thwump area in one movement. keep trying.

Good idea, but doesn't motivate movement.

I also don't see any strong connection to 'less'. Perhaps the Thwumps start out higher and each beaker has them lower and lower, giving you less drop in time? This would also suggest an order to the player, rather than having to pick one of two equal scenarios
