Description LouDog and MapSwap just go together.

This map was featured on 2009-04-10

When LouDog and 9400 meet, the results are going to be good; they both have solid spots on my favourite authors list, and in 'Desgranges' they don't disappoint. With plenty of routes to grab all that gold, this map has a huge replay value. Combined with the refined look, it's a real winner. LouDog and 9400 just go together. — lord_day

Guys

this isn't a 'I nominate myself as a potential reviewer' thread.
I thought riobe had done quite a few reviews recently as well.

hmmm

hs their been a week long feature before? I think this might break some records ;D

romaniac,

The lack of grammar and punctuation in your post suggests otherwise...

mam:

I do not have any privilege to access the email address for NUMA, which is where reviews are sent to, nor does atob let me know when he is instating new reviewers; they are quite separate from instating new moderators.

That said, I can probably nudge atob a little to consider taking the time to remove inactive reviewers and look at the applicants for possible new reviewers.

origami is probably like a always on NUMA user.

he/she's featured 4 already on the this page only [nmaps.net]
I personally have a good foundation on what makes a "featured map" and the certain criteria that not only goes into the map itself, but indefinitely into the review as well. Although of course it is not my place to call. but hopefully an admin or mod can find a direct and clean way to process this. idk .. i guess thats my view on the situation, even though there are things i don't know i feel pretty strongly that people that deserve to be a reviewer will be it. hmmm :\

Id

be fine with becoming a reviewer if there is a need for active people. . .
Im fine with words I guess

anyway

some of these people don't play anymore.
to test..

go on the users (the one's that haven't featured for a while) latest level and say..
"If you do not reply to this message you will not be a featurer anymore.
we are doing this so we can delist most featurers and recruit more".

most of these people have some bad maps and possibly want to see new maps. They should get a chance to feature a map.
Am I right in thinking you are in a position of power, O_A? Do you know when such a decision will be made? Or is it simply a matter of when atob sees this he'll decide?
Thanks

I think

the fact that we have over 15 reviewers and 2/3 of them have not featured a map in quite a while shows that people just become bored.

Maybe atob will clean out all the inactive reviewers soon and give the position to new people, but for now this is what we have to live with, I guess.
Out of the last 30 featured maps, lord_day, GHM, and myself have been the most active. Of these 3, we have contributed to about 2/3 of the featured maps in the last 2 months.

I agree, something needs to be done to create more active reviewers. Whether this calls for removal of those who are inactive or a call to the current reviewers to step up and make good on their word as a reviewer to actually review map, I guess we'll see. Regardless of what happens, the figures above are irritating to me, and they would probably be even more unsatisfying if the three top reviewers so far actually took turns reviewing one map every day.
Reviewers

Reviewers are the people with the power to create new featured maps. They have an exceptional grasp of the written word, which they use for the good of all by finding and reviewing the best maps NUMA has to offer.

but they probably haven't even featured a level yet!
or even for a year!
look everyone, we need reviewers that possibly go on NUMA everyday(which is me) and be looking for good maps while other reviewers do the same thing!

@mammaletto:

I agree with you fully. I'm not a reviewer at the moment, but I totally agree with your post. We need to have one map a day featured, (as it is supposed to be. I'm actually quite annoyed that it isn't) and we need more reviewers. As for the map;

I'm not a big fan of this map. I'm not sure why; it just feels a little empty. It feels like it needs a little more variety. It's a bit barren, IMO. But that's just me. It is a bit fun, though. 3.

I have to wonder...

Was the sample review I submitted (and others' reviews, for that matter) really so bad that it's better to have this map up for days than have another few substandard reviews that bring some more great maps to our attention, despite the ineloquence with which they are presented?! It's not like this is a one-off either...

I think the vast majority of NUMA user would endorse the appointment of more reviewers. Or perhaps anyone could mail a current reviewer their review and the decision on whether or not to post could be made by the same group active at the moment. Maybe I should have posted a topic about this in the forums, but this seems such a great example of my point.

Bleh

Hurry up Pawz :P

i think we need new reviwers "wink wink"atob"nudge nudge"check your inbox and hire me"wink wink"

No offence

but we need a new feature...
I mean, 4 days?!

3/5

I liked the freedom and the gold placement,
but somehow didn't enjoy the overall feeling of the map.
The tileset is a bit boring and it's really hard to get a flow going on, maybe that was on purpoise?
The map still managed to keep me trying again and again until I finally managed to get past those chaingun drones.. :P

I found it

a little lifeless. Very sterile, but very well built. Two minds....

wonderful.

Demo Data
Excellent for highscoring. AGD here with a pretty good route I think.

yawn

lets get a change
Very nice map.
Demo Data
thanks for pushing it into the limelight l_d.

I never rated this.

Hrm.

Five, by the way.

a little faster AGD

this map isn't as good for AGDs as it looks. still very fun.
Demo Data
I'm quite fond of this map actually.

Could be improved. Mines?

But the freedom is good too.

ahahaah

lmao @ Cerberus

slowish agd
Demo Data

Loved it.

In every way possible.

I like the review.

I like the map. Not everything has to be flowery, people.

GREAT

a
That review was fine; it told what l_d liked about the map. Simple and effective.

Style? It is there

Besides, that shouldn't matter if its fun. My Route worked for the most part, I'm still having a hard time with the very bottom because the drones seem to zone in on you a little too much, non the less. This map is well designed and a fun challenge for me. 4/5

Very Fun
