Restart NReality (a mod of N, download @ n.infunity.com) to retrieve this new update of Jump Settings

noWallJump, default 0, set to 1 to disable wall jump
noWallSlide, default 0, set to 1 to disable wall slide
maxJumpCount, default 1, set to 2 to enable double jump (i.e. you can jump in air), set to 3 to enable triple jump and so on, set to 0 to disable floor jump (you can still wall jump, to disable wall jump too set noWallJump to 1)
jumpResetYSpeed, default 0, set to 1 to reset coordinate Y speed when jumping, please test this newly added attribute, cause I don't know how to explain it. (Test it with double jump and you will get the idea)

As to fuse two of the most infuriating games.

Upon reflection

This is a pretty inaccurate representation of that level. :P

I mean, the game itself is also grid-based, so you might as well make it to scale. The platforms should be four drones, and the whole thing should be quite a bit smaller, for starters. The thwump could be centered, set its xw to about 20, and fallspeed to about 20. The ninja physics are pretty off, too :P

I'm working on a version that fixes these inaccuracies >_>

Now I get what you are talking about. I think naturally that an air jump is weaker though. Think about it and logically, if you are not touching solids, it would be weaker.

Granted, but

These are both from rest.

Jumping from the ground while at complete rest brings me a tile and a half from the ceiling.

Jumping from the air while at complete rest brings me 2/3 of the way up in the air. This is a rather large difference.

I tested the air jump by also setting the normal gravity to 0, so he wouldn't be affected by downward velocity, just in case.

The all other variables were isolated; the only difference between the two experiments was air vs. not air (and about one pixel in height as a start, but that's insignificant; if anything that should have gotten him one pixel higher :P) and yet air version still was significantly weaker, though still quite respectable.

the more velocity you have going into the aerial jump, the higher it goes. From a normal jump, jump about halfway between max height and the starting point for the maximum distance aerial jump. Its just how N mechanics work. So far, I have discovered that if you run into a wall to start a wall jump climb, you climb faster (you all know this). The same thing works but now its in the air, get it?
I've noticed the jump isn't as powerful when it's in the air as opposed to land. I don't know what the deal is, maybe you do.

I set it so the jump gravity is 0, the jump_y_bias is 0, the max_jump_time is 99999, and the jumpAmt is 5. I tried jumping from the ground and holding it down, and I got about 1 and a half tiles from the ceiling before coming to a stop.

From just a pixel or two above the ground in the same place, the aerial jump executes exactly the same only got about 2/3 the way up into the air before coming to a stop.

What's the dealie-o?

Just have *different* settings for the air jump? That would be neat, a jump that went up, and an air jump that went down :O

Would it be at all possible for you to implement ignoring of certain jump variables when using the air jump?

For example, ignoring jumpAmt and jump_y_bias so that all it would do is change it to jumpGrav? This would allow for a much more fluid "flying" experience; as it stands, it works somewhat like a jump pad; it ignores your current y velocity, and instead applies the jumpAmt and jump_y_bias.

How is it currently coded? Is it different for the air, or does it just allow it to be done in the air? If it is indeed different for the air, I would think you could just make it so that the jump button does something different while in the air (excluding the original jump, if any) and instead just changes it to jump gravity. Or something. It's rather specific, I know. Just food for thought?
